When our Senior Designer H Gio Giovanni tossed around the idea of the Retroliner concept it pushed our R&D department's ability to produce a hard-bag that fit the lines of the Retroliner Series. Gio when old school and chopper 3/4 off a Corbin fleetliner bag (who cuts up a bag valued at 2k), created a mold which used the art-deco lines of the Auburn Bow Tail speedster to meet the challenge of flowing into our Retroliner T rear fender. At first glance, the Phantom S bags seem to flow into the bike and it's hard to tell where the Retroliner T fender stops and the Phantom S hard-bags begin.
Our concept of style and function added 45 liters of storage and ultra streamline body to visually integrate the hard-bags into the Retroliner’s T rear fender’s bodyline. The Phantom S bags actually hold twice as much as the leatherite covered plastic bags available on the Stratoliner from Star. The Phantom S bag engineered walls meet the profile of the fender supports offering a fit closer to the centerline of rear angle of the bike. This provides better load bearing, better balance, less width and an ultra sleek look.
Phantom S hard-bags are built for the 2006-2014 Star Roadliner and Stratoliner ans 2008-2014 Star Raider models. Both hard-bags feature top loading so contents won’t fall out and will self close if forgotten. Notice how the mounting system keeps the hard-bags close to the fender. Phantom S is precision molded around the fender rails and in tight to the Retroliner T fender. This allows the hard-bags to carry weight in close for a better center of gravity and good balance. This design also keeps a narrower profile for less width to worry about when lane splitting on those California Highways.
Our senior designer shaped these hard-bags to work with our Phantom R and Phantom RP exhaust systems, as the bags give you a 5 inch stretch profile for that in the weeds look but clearance to take those winding roads. Surely other shorten exhaust system will work but the OEM is a big NO NO! Why would you want to roll stock anyways! Phantom S fit perfect hardware install simply with all brackets included. In the front, the Phantom S bag are shaped to allow room for passenger’s legs on the rear footpegs and includes a heel pad to protect the hard-bag mirror finish or can be converted to house an Audio Speaker(additional charges apply). When loaded properly the bike remains stable at all speeds and you know how we like to run those triple digits.
Wth over a 100 hours to produce each Phanotm S hard-bags, the hard-bags are handmade in our US facility from a ultra durable hybrid Blend of Blacksmith's G-tech fiberglass and Corbin Fibertech which will provide the reliability and security for miles down the road. These hard-bags come completely lined in a thick grey liner on the inside to protect your cargo and feature locking doors for security along with a sure seal weather stripping around the doors keeps out the elements. The Phantom S hard-bags will arrive paint-ready to coordinate with your stock paint job or custom finish. The heel pads come in a texture black material or can be converted for audio.
