Well look no further! The all new Blacksmith Phantom Air Ride sytem is the best upgrade for Harley Davidson Touring Big V Twin. So what make our system perform better than the competition? Designed specifically for the V-Twin touring bike market, these shocks feature large 63mm bores, which require lower pressures to lift a fully loaded touring motorcycle. This lower pressure provides a much more comfortable ride quality than competitive systems. Our unique adjustable rebound control enables the rider to adjust the firmness of the suspension to meet his or her individual requirements. The Phantom Anvil system has integrated several new features into this shock: large 63mm bores, adjustable rebound, special composite plastic pistons and bearings that are double sealed on all wear surfaces, and hardcoat anodized bores.
Anvil Shock
Each shock has two chambers. The two upper chambers create lift, while the lower chambers create rebound control. Rebound is set by air trapped in the lower chambers; less air trapped produces a softer ride. The extra large 63mm bore pistons require less air pressure to lift the bike, creating a softer ride, while still fitting behind the stock bags. The upper spherical bearing allows the shock body to pivot in all directions, minimizing any shock side loading or pivot friction.
We have learned from testing other systems that once the cylinder is pressurised with air, the cylinder is more of a support than a shock. This will cause a semi-comfort ride with a partial pressurezied system and harsh ride if it exceed this "sweet spot" pressurized level. The problem you ask? You can regulator what the correct pressurized level is for that "Sweet Spot" riding comfort. So we looked into providing a cylinder that has an unique way of recirculating the pressurized air as the rider engages different road surfaces, without the needing to find a sweet spot. This allow the cylinder to need less air(which gives you a lower stance), react to road imperfection as a OEM shock (absorb the impact), remove the harsh stiff ride known in other air ride systems.
We also added a preminum compressor and two regulator valves to insure constant regulation of the pressure in the system. As with all our systems you can upgrade to our 2 button remote control, front air ride, and our Phantom 1 sec lift package.
